Chinese electric mobility company BYD (Build Your Dreams) seems all set to launch a new electric car – the Atto 3 this festive season. The car is already being sold in some markets outside India. Recently, BYD released a small teaser to inform about the launch of its latest electric car in India. The Atto 3 will be BYD’s second electric car in India. Earlier, the company was selling the e6 MPV in the passenger vehicle segment in the country. Now, ahead of the launch, a brochure of the Atto 3 electric car has also been leaked, in which all the details of this upcoming EV are available.
Team-BHP Atto 3 brochure leak Which gives many information about the upcoming electric car. The length of the car will be 4,455 mm, width 1,875 mm and height 1,615 mm. Apart from this, it will have a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. With these dimensions, the electric car will be bigger than the current top-selling EVs in India, the Tata Nexon EV Max, MG ZS EV and the latest Mahindra XUV400. The car will get a boot space of 440-litres, which is more than the Nexon EV and ZS EV.
Talking about power, the upcoming BYD car will get a permanent magnetic synchronous motor that generates maximum power of 201 bhp and peak torque of 310 Nm. With this output, the car will be able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.
The brochure further reveals that the car will get a 49.92 kWh capacity BYD Blade battery pack with a WLTP cycle range of 345 km and an Extended Range variant with a 60.49 kWh capacity battery pack. The range of this variant is said to be 420 km.
Apart from this, it is also revealed that the BYD Atto 3 will also get advanced and premium features like a panoramic sunroof and one-touch open/close tailgate. Inside the car will get a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system. The front seats can be adjusted electrically. In addition, it will have a wireless phone charger.
The car will be equipped with many advanced safety and security features including 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, front and rear collision warning, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist.
The report claims that the estimated price of the BYD Atto will be Rs 30-35 lakh (on-road).
