Rostec reported that the United Aircraft Corporation plans to build 70 Tu-214 aircraft by 2030. All of them will be equipped with Russian PS-90 engines.
“In the long run until 2030, UAC plans to produce about 70 Tu-214 airliners. Today, these machines are already produced in Kazan in a small series. The aircraft is equipped with domestic PS-90 engines, which are certified, have a good reputation and are mass-produced. It can accommodate 210 passengers, its flight range is up to 6.5 thousand km, which is ideal for transportation within the country. The aircraft is highly reliable– reported in Rostec.
The transition to full-fledged serial production of the Tu-214 is due to Western sanctions, which include a complete renunciation of the supply of aircraft and components from Airbus and Boeing to Russia. Also, the foreign partners of the United Aircraft Corporation unilaterally stopped deliveries of components for the Russian SSJ-100 and MS-21.
