Bravo Samsung. Latest Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 Passes JerryRigEverything’s JerryRigEverything’s Famous Bend Test

Well-known video blogger Zach Nelson, under the nickname JerryRigEverything, who scoffs at smartphones, has published a video test of the new foldable phone Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4.

In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 has not changed compared to its predecessor. On the external display, the protective glass Gorilla Glass Victus was replaced with Victus Plus. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is waterproof, IPX8 rated, and the internal display is still protected by a plastic film.

Gorilla Glass Victus Plus didn’t add any scratch resistance as the outer display was still scratched at 6 (on the Mohs hardness scale) and the deeper grooves remained at 7. Meanwhile, the inner screen’s protective coating is quite soft, so Samsung warns that even fingernails can leave indelible marks.

On both displays there were traces of burns from a lighter and scratches, coarse sand was poured into the smartphone on both sides of the hinge, but it could not disrupt the device’s performance.

As a result, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 passed the bending test, not only when folded, but also when unfolded, in which it seems especially fragile.
