Booking of Maruti Brezza CNG started, can get mileage of 27 km

Maruti Suzuki has made a good hold in the CNG segment but the company is now engaged in providing CNG models in different vehicle segments. Under this, the company is now going to bring Brezza in CNG version as well.

Maruti Suzuki introduced the Brezza CNG at the Auto Expo 2023 and now its bookings have been started. Customers can book the Maruti Brezza CNG by paying an upfront amount of Rs 25,000.

Talk about the delivery of Maruti Brezza CNG, then it can be started in the next two to months. This will be the company’s first CNG model to be made available in all trims, usually the company only offers CNG option in the lower trim.

Maruti Brezza CNG will be made available in LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+ variants. This will be the first CNG vehicle from Maruti Suzuki to be made available with an automatic gearbox.

Engine options for the Maruti Brezza CNG have been confirmed. It will be powered by the K15C 1.5-litre petrol engine that powers the Ertiga and XL6. In the petrol version, it offers 100 hp power and 136 Nm torque.

In the CNG version, this engine will provide 88 hp power and 121.5 newton meter torque. A 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox will be given with this engine. This engine returns a mileage of 26.11 km/kg in XL6.

Thus, this mileage figure can be even better in the Maruti Brezza CNG version as it is lighter than the XL6. In terms of design, it will be kept similar to the petrol but will be given the S-CNG badge.

Along with this, due to being a CNG model, its boot space is also going to be reduced. In terms of features, it will get 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, voice assistance, connected car technology, start/stop button, six airbags and rear view camera.

The Maruti Brezza CNG is currently being sold at a starting price of Rs.8.19 Lakh which goes all the way up to Rs.13.88 Lakh for the top model. In comparison, the CNG version can be expensive by up to Rs 90,000.

Currently, there is no model in the market to compete with the Maruti Brezza CNG and it does not seem that the rivals of the petrol model of the Brezza will be introduced in the CNG version in the near future. It rivals the likes of Tata Nexon, Kia Sonnet among others.

The company currently has the largest range of CNG models and is ruling the segment single-handedly. Now it has to be seen how the CNG model of the SUV gets a response.
