Till now the strength of the vehicles sold in India was checked by GNCAP i.e. Global NCAP, but now the Government of India has started the Bharat NCAP program to check the strength of the vehicles in India itself. Have you ever wondered how much does the crash testing that is done to check the strength of vehicles cost?

Crash testing of vehicles makes it clear how strong the car is, but after hearing the cost behind this testing, the ground may slip from under your feet.

Bharat NCAP vs GNCAP: How much does it cost?

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari had said some time ago that crash testing of cars in Bharat NCAP will cost around Rs 60 lakh. On the other hand, according to reports, if Global NCAP conducts the same crash test, it would cost Rs 2.5 crore per vehicle.

Bharat NCAP vs GNCAP: Safety Rating

According to Global NCAP, any vehicle has to score a minimum of 34 in the car crash test to get a 5 star safety rating (for adults). Of the 34 score points, 16 points are for front crash test, 16 points are for side impact and 2 points are for seatbelt reminder.

On the other hand, this figure is slightly different for car crash testing started in India. According to reports, if a car needs a 5 star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP car crash test, then in terms of adult safety the car will need at least 27 points. On the other hand, in terms of child safety, the vehicle will have to score at least 41 points.

Bharat NCAP vs GNCAP:Top Speed

Apart from the safety rating, let us now tell you at what speed both the car crash agencies test the vehicles. According to reports, the frontal crash test in BNCAP will be checked at the speed of 64km/hr, side and pole-side impact at the speed of 50km/hr and 29km/hr respectively. On the other hand, at the time of front side crash test in Global NCAP, the speed of the car is 102.
