BMW finally presented the BMW 5-series Turing in the G60 body: plus 10 cm in length, top equipment and up to 593 hp.

Almost a year after the premiere of the BMW 5 Series sedan in the G60 body, the Bavarians finally officially presented the universal. Externally it looks the same as the sedan, with the correction of a modified rear end.

In terms of dimensions, the new model has increased significantly – immediately 97 mm of length. But the wheelbase increased not so significantly – plus 20 mm. Also the model of the new generation is wider than its predecessor by 32 mm and higher by 17 mm.

The salon is significantly modernized: there is a new digital instrument panel with a screen diagonal of 12,3 inches and a media system with a screen diagonal of 14,9 inches. Operating system – latest BMW OS 8.5, supporting video streaming services, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, games. In the standard equipment of the interior the machine is «completely vegan».

Once we talk about universal, then an important parameter – the volume of the trunk. It is 570 litres, and with the folded rear seats it increases to 1700 litres. Whether the rear glass opens separately is still unknown, but the trunk lid has an electric drive.

Among the options – panoramic roof, leather salon BMW Individual Merino (obviously, no longer vegan) and acoustics Bowers & Wilkins with 18 dynamics.

The most powerful universals – within the i5 series, that is electric. The base version eDrive40 Touring has rear drive and produces 335 hp, acceleration to 100 km/h – in 6,1 s, range (capacity of the traction battery is 81,2 kWh) – 560 km.

The next step – this BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring with two motors with a total power of 593 hp. Such a universal accelerates to 100 km/h in 3,9 seconds, but the range is less here – 506 km.

The usual petrol «Pyterka» is far less powerful: based on a 2,0-litre turbodiesel, producing 194 l.s. It is combined with an 8-stage «automatic» and, for extra payment, with all-wheel drive. New versions are promised for summer – with 6-cylinder diesel motor. And there will be two more connected hybrids of the last generation, already with petrol motors. Prices have not been announced yet.
