In the last one and a half year, many incidents of raids by fake officers have come to light in Gujarat. After Kutch, now the incident of raid by fake Income Tax officers has come to light from Dahod. Fake Income Tax officers raided Sukhsar village of Dahod district and demanded Rs 25 lakh, after which the shop owner became suspicious and the fake officers were busted.

Actually, six fake Income Tax officers raided the shop of a licensed moneylender in Sukhsar village of Dahod. Six fake Income Tax officers raided the shop of Alpesh Prajapati of Dahod, who runs a clothes business. He asked for documents regarding the jewelery found in his shop, which were not available and hence he demanded Rs 25 lakh in return for not registering the case.

But, he did not have Rs 25 lakh, so he started settling the case for Rs 2 lakh. This made Alpeshbhai’s son suspicious and he asked for the ID cards of the fake officers. But he didn’t have it. After this Alpeshbhai contacted the police. The police immediately arrived and took two accused named Bhavesh and Abdul into custody.

Real GST officers also involved in the raid

Dahod Deputy SP D R Patel said that the police have arrested a total of 5 accused, including a genuine GST officer. Vipul Kachhiya is a GST officer and he had conducted the fake IT raid with the help of others. The police are currently interrogating the arrested accused. Also, efforts are being made to find out whether they have conducted any such raid before or not.
