WhatsApp is testing a new ‘Search Messages’ shortcut option for Android users. After this update of WhatsApp, changes will also be seen in the contact page and group info page. WhatsApp was seen working on a new shortcut to filter recipients while posting a new status update. The feature, available for Android and web beta versions of WhatsApp, will allow users to choose who can see their WhatsApp status updates.
The ‘Search Messages’ shortcut option has been seen for Android beta version 2.22.6.3 on WhatsApp. WABetainfo, which tracks updates related to WhatsApp, says that the search shortcut is “not working so well” even though it is correctly rolled out to testers’ WhatsApp accounts. As per the image shared by WABetainfo, the latest contact info/group info has been redesigned. Search option is available. The previous redesign had “chat”, “audio” and “video” options.
WhatsApp is also rolling out new privacy shortcuts for status updates for Android and web beta versions. This feature will allow users to choose the viewers who will be able to see their status updates. According to the photo shared in the report, users will have three options: ‘My Contacts’, ‘Except My Contacts’ and ‘Only Share With’.
