Big decision on diesel cars, BS4 diesel vehicles may be banned in Delhi from October 1

Diesel car ban in delhi: If you have a BS4 diesel car, you may not be able to drive it in Delhi-NCR from October 1. A new policy can be implemented in the city from October 1, in which it has been said that these vehicles should be banned.

BS4 diesel cars ban: There is big news for those who drive diesel in Delhi NCR. If you have a BS4 diesel car, then you may not be able to drive it in Delhi-NCR from October 1. Actually, this decision can be taken in case the air pollution in the national capital exceeds 450 AQI. Actually, due to burning of stubble in the field and Diwali fireworks during the festive season in Delhi NCR, there is a lot of mist. To overcome this, a new policy prepared by the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) will be implemented before the festive season.

Under the policy, if the air pollution exceeds 450 AQI, then diesel BS4 cars will be banned in the city to bring the air pollution under control. Apart from this, you will also not be able to drive BS-3 petrol vehicles. However, vehicles used in essential services will be exempted from this restriction.

“State governments in Delhi-NCR may ban BS3 petrol and BS4 diesel light motor vehicles (four wheelers) under Stage 3 in Delhi-NCR,” the policy said, according to the Ministry of Environment and Forests, due to air pollution. Stage 3 is said to be when the AQI remains between 401 and 450. Whereas if the AQI crosses the 450 mark, it will be called stage 4.

The policy also states that petrol pumps located in Delhi-NCR will not be allowed to fuel vehicles that do not have a valid pollution-under-check certificate with effect from January 1, 2023.
