According to “Kommersant”, the government commission on foreign investment will soon consider transactions for the sale of Russian assets of Hyundai and Volkswagen. Usually these meetings are held on Thursdays.
Sources of the publication claim that despite the lawsuit of the GAZ group against Volkswagen, the Avilon company has not paused the approval of the deal and is ready to purchase the plant. Moreover, the partial lifting of the seizure of Volkswagen real estate and equipment, which happened on April 3rdwill allow to complete the approval of the sale of assets to the Russian side. Expectedthat the plant will launch the production of Chinese Chery cars.
It also became knownthat the Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg is being prepared to be sold to a certain company from Kazakhstan. Presumably, it is planned to start production of Hyundai car kits from the available stocks, which are quite a lot, and deliver them for final assembly to one of the Kazakh enterprises. Electronic components will be purchased from Turkey and South Korea.
