Maruti Suzuki Baleno Becomes Top Selling Car: Maruti Suzuki’s premium hatchback Baleno has once again been the top selling car and sold the highest number of 16,932 units in the last month i.e. December 2022. It has been the country’s best selling car for the last 3 consecutive months and ahead of it all other cars including Tata Nexon, Tata Punch and Hyundai Creta have failed in terms of sales. Last month, along with Baleno, companies like Maruti Ertiga, Maruti Swift, Tata Nexon and Maruti Dzire were the top 5 best selling cars. After this, cars like Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Punch, Maruti Eeco, Hyundai Creta and Maruti WagonR remained in the top 10. Looking at the December 2022 car sales report, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which holds the top selling position, sold a total of 16,932 units. Baleno sales have seen a year-on-year growth of 17 per cent and a year-on-year decline of 19 per cent. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was the second best selling car last month with 12,273 units sold, registering an annual growth of around 4 per cent. Maruti Swift was the third best selling car in December 2022, with 12,061 units sold. Tata Nexon slipped to number four last month with a total of 12,053 units sold, which is a 6 per cent year-on-year and 24 per cent month-on-month decline. The fifth best selling car last month was the Maruti Dzire, which sold 11,997 units. Dzire sales have seen a growth of about 13 per cent.

Bumper increase in sales of Maruti Eeco
Talking about the top selling cars of December 2022, Maruti Suzuki Brezza was at number six with 11,200 units sold and an annual growth of 17 per cent. It was followed by Tata Punch, which sold a total of 10,586 units, registering an annual growth of 32 per cent. Maruti Suzuki Eeco’s sales have registered a bumper annual and monthly increase and in December 2022, it was the 8th best selling car, with a total of 10,581 units sold. Hyundai Creta is at number 9 with 10,205 units sold last month. With this, the last number in the top 10 cars is Maruti Suzuki WagonR, which sold 10,181 units. There has been a huge decline in the sales of WagonR.
