According to a report by news agency PTI, Bajaj’s managing director, Rajiv Bajaj, unveiled the plans for the CNG motorcycle series. The first model of the CNG motorcycle is scheduled to debut in June 2024. This announcement coincides with the Bajaj Group’s commitment to invest Rs 5,000 crore in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives over the next 5 years. Customers to benefit from improved mileage compared to petrol: The upcoming Bajaj motorcycle will operate on CNG, promising better mileage than petrol. It’s worth noting that fuel-efficient motorcycles continue to enjoy high demand among Indian consumers. Bajaj currently offers models like the Platina 100 and CT motorcycles in this segment. According to several media reports, it’s speculated that the upcoming CNG motorcycle will offer even higher mileage than its petrol counterparts. This implies that Bajaj’s upcoming CNG motorcycle will be the most fuel-efficient bike in the company’s lineup. Company’s stance: Bajaj’s forthcoming CNG motorcycle is expected to feature a bi-fuel setup. Consequently, the bike may come equipped with a dedicated switch, allowing customers to seamlessly switch between CNG and petrol modes. During the announcement, the company’s MD, Rajiv Bajaj, emphasized that slogans like ‘Make in India’, ‘Self-reliant’, or ‘Vocal for Local’ alone are insufficient for meaningful change. He reiterated the importance of implementing these slogans to drive real development, emphasizing the crucial role of skill development in this endeavor.
