Auto drivers driving autos in the state can apply for Electric Auto (e-Auto) Permit. For this facility, Haryana government will organize a camp in Gurugram from March 10, where auto drivers can apply for e-auto permit by giving their old diesel auto. Under the e-vehicle and scrapping policy of the state government, subsidy will be given to the auto driver on the purchase of e-auto.
NOC will be required for old vehicles
Let us tell you that under the new traffic rules, NOC has to be obtained for driving 10 years old diesel and 15 years old petrol vehicles in the country. This is applicable in states where plying of old vehicles is not prohibited. The National Green Tribunal had already ordered a ban on vehicles older than 10 years in Delhi-NCR.
According to the new rules called the Haryana Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules 2021, two separate categories of National Capital Territory area and non-National Capital Territory area have been created in the state. Presently there are 13 districts of Haryana in NCR region.
The rules state, “The maximum age of vehicles operating in both NCR region and non-NCR region shall be nine years for Tourist Permit (Motor Cab). For Tourist Permit other than Motor Cab in NCR Region and Non-NCR Region.” The age limit in the field will be eight years.
Similarly, for all other permits including State Carriage, Contract Carriage, Freight Carriage, the maximum age limit will be 15 years in case of CNG/Electric/Clean fuel vehicles while it will be 10 years for Diesel vehicles in NCR region. For non-NCR region the age limit for both the categories of vehicles will be 15 years.
According to a 2015 order of the National Green Tribunal, the life cycle of petrol cars in Delhi-NCR has been fixed at 15 years, while that for diesel cars is 10 years. The Haryana government in 2016 also issued directions banning 15-year-old petrol and 10-year-old diesel vehicles from the roads in NCR districts to reduce pollution levels in the Delhi-NCR region.
