No matter what happens within the walls of Ubisoft, you can always be sure that the next part of Assassin’s Creed will be released on schedule. This year, for example, the premiere of Assassin’s Creed Red , a historical action film in a Japanese setting, should take place. As usual, Tom Henderson has already looked at the gameplay of the project and shared his impressions on the Insider Gaming website.
According to Henderson , Red is being built on an improved version of the Anvil engine called Anvil Pipeline. Because of the transition, the developers had to redo everything – animations, parkour system, weather. But now Assassin’s Creed will have global illumination with ray tracing.
The combat system is not much different from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but it will become more brutal: the new product will have more blood and chopping off heads. The insider compared stealth to Splinter Cell – the hero will be able to extinguish torches and crawl. Also in Red you will need to take care of a village called Shelter. On its territory, the player is free to build and customize a dojo, armory, altars, in short, everything that is needed to complete missions.
Henderson is generally pleased with what he saw: he believes that the Assassin’s Creed series is waiting for a new qualitative step forward. The public will also soon be convinced of this – the presentation of Red is planned for the coming months.
