Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from TF International Securities published another analytical note. It says that Apple has notified component suppliers that plans for production and shipments of the iPhone SE4 in 2024 have not been postponed, but canceled. This means that there will be no iPhone SE4.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Qualcomm benefits the most from this decision. The thing is that Apple, not being confident in its own baseband processor, wanted to first test it on the iPhone SE4, and only then, if it showed itself well, integrate it into the iPhone 16. Now, in connection with the cancellation of the iPhone SE4 , the chances that Qualcomm will remain the exclusive modem supplier for the iPhone 16 are greatly increased.
Ming-Chi Kuo is known for his connections to the manufacturing supply chain. He has a long track record and specializes in Apple products. For example, in 2011 he predicted the exact launch date for the delayed white iPhone 4, in 2012 the Retina MacBook Pro, and in 2013 he accurately described the iPhone 5s with Touch ID fingerprint scanner.
