Apple’s affordable smartphone became expensive in India, was launched this year, the company explained the reason

Apple has quietly increased the price of its most affordable smartphone, the iPhone SE 2022. The company has increased the price of SE 5G by Rs 6,000 for the base model. The iPhone SE 2022 was launched in India earlier this year for Rs 43,900. Months after its launch, SE 2022 is available for Rs 49,900. The price hike comes a day after Apple announced the price of the iPhone 14 in India, which starts at Rs 79,900 for the vanilla model.

iPhone SE 2022 price hiked in India

The company did not give any official reason behind the hike in prices, but it can be attributed to the widening gap between the rupee’s value against the US dollar. Apart from this, the increase in the prices of components and logistics is also on account of increase in prices. Apple has increased the price of all three storage variants of iPhone SE 2022. The base model that comes with 64GB internal storage is priced at Rs 49,900. Apple launches SE 2022 Midnight, Starlight and PRODUCT [RED] Continuing to offer in colours.

Features and Specifications of iPhone SE 2022

SE 2022 comes with a 4.7-inch Retina display. It has thick top and chin bezels around the display. The chin bezel houses the Home button for Touch ID. Apple has packed the A15 Bionic chipset, which is based on the 5nm process and the iPhone 13 series is also equipped with the same processor. At the back is a 12MP primary camera with LED flash. There is also a 7MP front camera. Camera features like Photographic Styles, Deep Fusion, HDR4, etc. have been provided in SE 2022. It runs on iOS 15 out of the box and will get the new iOS 16 update on September 12. SE 2022 also comes with IP68 rating for water. It is dust and water resistance.
