New Delhi- Apple Inc., the maker of premium smartphones, computers and laptops, is testing several of its Mac models. It is being told that these Macs are equipped with the next generation M-2 processor chips (M2 chips). There is a lot of discussion in the tech world that Apple is soon going to launch a new generation processor Mac. The company had said some time ago that the M1 Ultra will be the last chip in the current generation lineup.
Bloomberg’s report says that Mac models will come upgraded with the new chip. The M2 is said to have been trialed with the MacBook Air’s 10-core GPU. According to reports, Apple is trying to revamp its MacBook Air.
The entry-level M2 MacBook Pro is said to be the same as the Apple M1 Pro chip. The company is testing the new generation chip with 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro, the new Mac Mini and Mac Pro. The M2 Pro is also emerging as an alternative to the Mac mini and it will be the successor to the M1 Ultra in the Mac Pro in the times to come.
The report suggests that the new MacBook Air will be offered in a new color and design in addition to the new chip. The M2 chip is four times faster than the M1. It has a faster computing core than the M1.
Last month in March, Apple introduced a faster chip for a new desktop. It is a high point for the company to power its devices with designed microprocessors. Last year, Apple announced two new MacBook Pro models that run on more powerful in-house chips. The company launched 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Mini.
