Is it okay to put a wet iPhone inside rice? Apple said – Absolutely not…
Apple has warned against using rice to dry damaged iPhones. Even though this has been a common habit among smartphone users, Apple has called this method dangerous.
In a recent update on its website, Apple has warned against using rice to dry damaged iPhones. Even though this has been a common habit among smartphone users, Apple has called this method dangerous as it can damage the phone. For many years, phones falling into water have been a common problem. To fix this, many people put the wet phone in a bag of rice, so that the rice absorbs the water and the phone gets fixed. But technology experts have called it a rumour, and now Apple has also confirmed this.
According to a recent change on Apple’s website, putting a wet iPhone in rice can actually be harmful. This is because small pieces of rice can go inside the phone and damage it. Additionally, Apple has also introduced a new feature that will notify you if water gets into the phone. If this happens, Apple refuses to charge it until it’s completely dry.

Additionally, Apple has also introduced a new feature that will notify you if water gets into the phone. If this happens, Apple refuses to charge it until it’s completely dry.
This change has happened after a report by Metro, a British news website, which first saw this update on Apple’s website. With the new water detection feature, users are now prompted to take action if their phone gets waterlogged, reducing the risk of further damage to their phone.
Apple said this if the iPhone is wet
– First of all, do not connect your phone and charging cable until they are completely dry. To dry your iPhone, tilt it slightly downwards and pat it gently with your hand to remove excess water. After this, keep your phone in a ventilated place.
– After at least 30 minutes, try connecting the charging cable or any accessory. If this warning appears again, it means there is still water in the charging port or cable pins. Keep your phone in an open airy place for a day. Only if the phone feels dry, try charging it again or connecting an accessory during this time.
What not to do if iPhone is wet?
Apple says that do not use a heater, hairdryer, or blowing machine to dry your iPhone. Also, it is not advisable to insert any foreign object like cotton or tissue paper into the charging port. As mentioned earlier, do not put your phone in a bag of rice, as small pieces of rice can damage your iPhone.
