The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has published a new Apple patent that describes a MacBook with a built-in biosensor in the area that the user’s hands rest on. This sensor will allow you to monitor health indicators.
The sensor can be located next to the keyboard in the palm rest area. In some embodiments, the sensor may itself emit radiation. It will be reflected from the hands of the user, and this will allow monitoring indicators of health or physiological state. The sensor can also be used to detect the proximity of the user’s hand to the device. If the hand is nearby, the device can automatically switch to a certain operating mode.
It is noted that the MacBook can use a biosensor to monitor heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, etc.
