Apple is developing a home robot assistant

According to Bloomberg, following the “cancellation” of the branded electric car project, Apple has shifted its focus to developing two new devices. Rumors suggest that the first device will be a smart manipulator equipped with a monitor, capable of following the user and responding to certain on-screen cues. For example, it might “nod” when a person does so during a conversation. The second robot, as per the source, will be designed to perform small household chores. Bloomberg reports that the autonomous systems and safety algorithms for these potential products could be developed within the now-defunct Apple Car division. Further details and a potential announcement date for Apple’s robots remain unknown.

An insider known as OreXda claims that the flagship Samsung Exynos 2500 mobile platform will come in two different variants. The base model, featuring 8 CPU cores, will be intended for smartphones. It’s speculated that to enhance computing power, the new product might adopt high-performance cores following a “4+4” scheme. A more potent version of the chip, with ten cores, will be targeted for installation in tablets and laptops. Unofficial reports suggest it will also operate at a higher clock speed, up to 3.3 GHz.
