Apple Recognizes “SIM Not Supported” Error on iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max

Apple acknowledged another bug in iOS 16 affecting iPhone 14 users. This time it’s about mobile data and SIM card support.

In a memo shared with MacRumors, Apple acknowledges that some iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max users may see a “SIM not supported” message on their device. After displaying a pop-up message, the iPhone may completely freeze. Apple says it’s looking into the issue and notes it’s not a hardware bug, adding that customers should keep their software up to date.

While the investigation continues, Apple is advising customers to wait a few minutes to see if the message goes away. If it persists, customers should not attempt to restore the device. Instead, users should contact an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider, where they can submit a technical assistance request to resolve the issue.

Recall that immediately after the launch, the iPhone 14 had several problems, including problems with device activation and camera vibrations. Both issues have been resolved in the iOS 16 updates. Apple is currently testing iOS 16.1 and is expected to launch later this month.
