Apple plans to introduce rental of its devices

Bloomberg reports that Apple is working on creating a monthly subscription for iPhone and other devices, a similar system is already in Samsung, for example.
This program will be slightly different from the current iPhone Upgrade Program, where you trade in your old smartphone and get a discount on a new one. A new subscription will cost around $35/month and you’ll get a new iPhone every year as well as AppleCare+ insurance.

The program has not been officially announced and according to people familiar with it, it is still under development. But it will operate as a car leasing program, which marks a significant shift in Apple’s business, according to the publication.

An Apple spokesperson declined to comment on the company’s plans to Bloomberg. However, the publication said that Apple’s subscription service could be launched as early as the end of this year, although it may be delayed.
