Apple has released a major update to its mobile platform – iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4. It brings several new features at once, and one of them is specially for Russian-speaking users.
So, let’s start with the most relevant for our readers. Support for Russian and Ukrainian languages has appeared in the swipe keyboard, which allows you to quickly type text by simply sliding your fingers across the keyboard. You can activate it in the keyboard settings.
Also, the update brought two dozen new emoji (more precisely – 21), including animals, hand gestures and objects. Notifications now work for web apps added to the home screen. Voice calls have been improved with “Voice Isolation” – giving priority to the user’s voice and blocking out ambient noise. You can now search for “Duplicates” in “Photos” in the shared library in the iCloud cloud. VoiceOver support is now available for maps in the Weather app.
Among other things, the update fixes more than 30 security vulnerabilities, including components such as Apple Neural Engine, Calendar, Camera, CarPlay, Bluetooth, Find My…, iCloud, Photos, Podcasts and Safari. And this is not the whole list of improvements, fixes and improvements in iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4.
iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 can be downloaded over the air by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Apple has also released iOS 15.7.4 to iPhone users with a similar security update.
