Another Russian car plant completely stops production. About a dozen Peugeot, Citroen and Opel models were assembled on it.

The Stellantis concern, which together with Mitsubishi owns the large automobile plant PSMA Rus in Kaluga, has stopped production. This is due to sanctions and problems with logistics.

“Given the growing number of cross-sanctions and difficulties with logistics, the Stellantis concern has decided to suspend production at the plant in Kaluga. Stellantis takes all measures to comply with international sanctions and protect its employees”the company said in a statement.

PSMA Rus is 70% owned by Stellantis and 30% by Mitsubishi. It produced Peugeot 408 and Citroen C4 sedans, Peugeot, Opel and Citroen light commercial vehicles, as well as Peugeot Partner, Citroen Berlingo and Opel Combo minivans and compact vans. On March 10, Stellantis stopped the export of cars from the Russian Federation and the supply of cars to the local market from abroad. Earlier, the head of the concern, Carlos Tavares, said that he allowed the transfer of production from Russia in the event of negative consequences due to sanctions.

As for Mitsubishi, then she stopped production at PSMA Rus ten days ago. Thus, now the enterprise is stopped completely.
