Google is working on adding a Find My Device feature to Andorid, which will allow you to find a lost (or stolen) smartphone even if it is turned off.
When the feature arrives in the OS, it may be called the Pixel Power-Off Finder. To work, the function will require Bluetooth, that is, this communication channel cannot be turned off, even if it is not used to pair with any wearable electronics.
Mention of the new feature has already been found in the Android 14 source code in the form of the hardware.google.bluetooth.power_off_finder item. It is not yet clear whether any hardware technologies are needed for the function to work, that is, whether already released devices will be able to support it after updating the OS.
