Analytical company Strategy Analytics has shared fresh statistics on operating systems in the international smartphone market.
One of the most interesting facts revealed by analysts was the achievement of an important milestone by the HarmonyOS operating system, which replaced Android on Huawei and Honor smartphones and tablets.
In 2022, HarmonyOS finally reached 2% of all smartphone sales, surpassing analysts’ “all expectations”. At the same time, the share of iOS was 18%, and the share of Android – 81%.
However, analysts say the outlook for HarmonyOS is bleak, given Huawei’s current struggles with smartphones due to U.S. sanctions. As a result, HarmonyOS analysts do not take into account in their forecast for 2027.
In November the company reported 320 million Huawei devices with HarmonyOS installed.
