An American fighter jet dropped an all-weather gliding bomb for the first time

This bomb is being developed by Raytheon. The Stormbreaker entered service with the Air Force (Air Force) last year. She was armed with the F-15E Strike Eagle heavy fighter-bomber.

The new tests involved not only the bomb carrier itself, the F-35B, but also another F / A-18F fighter. He tracked the flight of the Stormbreaker. This bomb is universal – it can hit mobile and stationary targets in bad weather conditions, in the dark, with smoke and dust. Stormbreaker uses GPS.

The bomb has a folding wing for maneuvering. It can glide to a stationary target at a distance of 110 kilometers from the drop point or to a moving target – 72 kilometers.
