An 18-year-old boy hacked Uber’s database for an Uber driver, demanding the company through a message

New Delhi: Popular online cab booking platform Uber has been hacked. An 18-year-old teenager has been held responsible for this hacking. After this hacking, the company could not access the internal tools of the employees. The system was shutting down automatically. The company itself confirmed the hacking and said that the database has been hacked and the matter is under investigation. According to reports, Uber employees could not use company tools like Slack. After going to the website address, they were seeing a message. This explains the hacking. The hacker wrote in the message that Uber is going to reduce the salary of its employees. The message read, “I declare that I am a hacker and Uber is facing a data leak.”

The company said it was hacked
An Uber spokesperson wrote on Twitter in this regard, “We are dealing with a hacking related to cyber security. For this we are working closely with the agency within the framework of the law. The company has shared information that we will share updates after getting more information about this. However, there has been no report of any disruption to the working of the Uber app. So this service was running smoothly.

The hacker blamed the vulnerability on security
According to a New York Times report, the hacker has held talks with them. The hacker is only 18 years old. The hacker claims that the Uber system has access to admin accounts. Its weak security makes it very easy to hack. The hacker claims that the system was hacked by impersonating an Uber employee and stealing login details.

The Uber employee told the hacker the password
According to the hacker, he sent a message to an Uber employee asking for a password. He identified himself as an IT employee. Once the password was obtained, the hacker gained access to Uber’s system. The hacker demands that the company does not pay its drivers well. A hacker has access to critical Uber IT systems.
