Amul Frozen: Now AMUL’s French fries will be eaten abroad, orders received from many countries

Amul Frozen French Fries : India’s largest dairy firm Amul is going to spread its feet abroad. Amul’s frozen French-fry is in demand in many European countries. With which Amul has made preparations to export its first consignment to the Philippines. Frozen French-Fry is prepared at the Potato Processing Plant at Banas Dairy in Banaskantha district of Gujarat. Next month its first consignment will be exported under the Amul brand.

First shipment to Philippines
Let us tell you that the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) will market and sell frozen French-fries under the brand Amul. The first consignment will be sent to the Philippines. After this, Amul Frozen French-Fry will be exported to many more countries.

Sangram Chaudhary, managing director of Banas Dairy, says that he has got an order for 120 tonnes of frozen french-fry. Amul Dairy has received orders from many European countries like Malaysia, Japan, USA, Canada. The shipment will be done from Mundra port in Gujarat. The first consignment will leave next month from the newly built potato processing plant.

PM inaugurated
Prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated this plant at a cost of Rs 140 crore with a capacity to process 48 tonnes of potatoes per day. Earlier, Canada, Singapore and Malaysia had exported frozen French-fry in small quantities. In this processing plant, apart from frozen-french-fry, frozen chips, aloo tikkis, burger patties etc. are produced.

Increased demand for potatoes
The Deesa region in Banaskantha district is considered to be a potato hot zone. Potato is grown in large quantities here. This year, Amul has procured around 10,000 tonnes of potatoes under contracts with farmers. There is a tremendous demand for potato products these days. Let us tell you that next year Amul is planning to buy about 25,000 tonnes of potatoes. About 3,200 potato-producing farmers have been associated with the dairy.

Amul did not get relief
The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation is preparing to ship frozen French-fries with the Amul brand abroad. Recently, Amul and all the dairy companies have suffered a major setback. The government has banned even plastic straws. The government has banned single-use plastic in the country from July 1. Amul had written a letter to the PMO requesting to postpone it further, but the government did not change its decision.
