American tank crews complained about poor communication system

According to Voennoye Obozreniye, the existing army network is not suitable for armored brigades and their personnel. Major Todd Donaldson of the 2nd Armored Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, US Army, said the current network does not support the survival of the personnel in actual combat conditions. The fact is that communication is lost during the movement of equipment. The signal can be lost even during maneuvers on the training grounds. Because of this, tankers have to stop a combat vehicle in order to establish communication via the tactical Internet. At such moments, the likelihood of hitting an armored vehicle increases, and there is also a risk of data interception.

The network modernization program should start in 2022.
