An insider spoke about the Radeon RX 6500XT and RX 6400 video cards with 4 GB of GDDR6 memory. It is not known where the data about them was posted – on the manufacturer’s website or in the online store. If his information is correct, it means that AMD has the first RDNA2 GPUs with less than 8GB of memory.
Both cards are rumored to be powered by an entry-level Navi 24 GPU. This GPU must have up to 16 Compute Units (CU) with 1024 stream processors. This is half the size of Navi 23. This processor is suitable for casual games or multimedia. The configurations of the RX 6500XT and RX 6400 are currently unknown, but it can be assumed that the first model will have a standard GPU and the second will have a stripped-down version.
Such video cards, due to their characteristics, should be inexpensive.
