Amazon has increased the price of prime membership in India. The company has officially confirmed the change in membership prices through its website, and has told that now users will have to pay more for the new membership. If you were also a member of Prime till now, and now you have to renew the plan, then you will need to know about some important things related to the new price.
Amazon has increased the price of its prime membership by up to Rs 140. The monthly plan has now cost Rs 299, an increase of Rs 120, while the 3-month membership has been increased by Rs 140 to Rs 599.
old price vs new price
The price of Prime Monthly Membership was earlier Rs 179 and now its price has become Rs 299. Whereas the price of 3 months plan was Rs 459 and now its price is Rs 599.
Those who buy annual plan need not take any tension about it. The price of Annual Prime Membership is still Rs 1,499 as before. However, the price of the plan has been increased in December 2021.
The cost of Prime Lite membership is Rs 999 and its cost is still the same. The plan offers the same benefits as a regular membership, except for Amazon Music.
Amazon has confirmed that existing monthly and 3-month auto-renewing members can pay the old price until January 15, 2024. If auto-renew fails or you cancel your membership, you will need to purchase membership at the new cost.
