A horrific accident took place in Chakrata, Uttarakhand, when a car full of tourists suddenly fell into a ditch. Eight people, including four-month-old children, were injured in the incident. The SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) rescued everyone and took them to the hospital.
The tourists, who had come to visit Chakrata for the New Year, met with the accident in the dark of the night, when their car fell into a 100-meter (328 feet) deep gorge. In this accident, eight people were injured, including two four-month-old infants. The SDRF rescue team reached the spot and helped take them out of the ditch on stretchers.
The injured were transported through an alternative route to the main road and sent to the hospital for proper treatment. It is reported that the Alto car, carrying tourists from Yamunanagar, Haryana, fell into the gorge after the accident occurred late at night.
The car was badly damaged in the incident, but the occupants, including four-month-old Kashish and Avvya, along with 7-year-old Madhav, 15-year-old Smaran, Rajat, Isha, Amit, and Divya, were all injured when the car fell into the ditch. Thankfully, they were safely rescued by the SDRF team and taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Just a week ago, another accident occurred in Chakrata. A car carrying tourists from Dehradun, who were on their way to visit Chakrata, met with an accident near Lokhandi. The car, which was speeding, went out of control and fell into a 200-meter deep gorge. In this accident, one youth died on the spot, and four others were seriously injured. The injured were later admitted to the hospital for treatment. It is reported that three young men and two girls from Dehradun were heading to the Lokhandi area of Chakrata to see snow when the car lost its balance and fell into a ditch. The car was completely destroyed in the accident.
