The reason for the recall was a problem with the airbags. Rosstandart explained:
On affected vehicles, as a result of years of aging, the driver’s airbag inflator may fail. If the airbag is deployed during an accident, the gas generator may develop too much internal pressure. Under unfavorable circumstances, the gas generator explodes and its metal parts can cause injury.
The company will replace the driver’s airbag in the recalled vehicles free of charge. Representatives of the company must inform, by mail or by phone, the owners of cars that fall under the recall about the need to take the vehicle to the nearest dealership for repair.
At the same time, owners can independently determine whether their vehicle is subject to recall. To do this, you need to check the VIN code of the car on the website of Rosstandart or in a special service on the Auto.ru website.
