Apple has launched AirPods Pro, the company’s most premium pair of truly wireless earbuds. Not only does the AirPods Pro feature a new design, but it also comes with Active Noise Cancellation Technology which is not present in the standard AirPod model. Pre-orders for the new AirPods Pro will begin on October 30 in the US. The price and launch date of the product in India have not been disclosed. Let’s take a look at the difference between AirPods Pro and AirPods 2.
AirPods Pro vs AirPods 2: Price and release date
AirPods Pro is priced at Rs 24,900 in India and comes with a wireless charging case. Standard AirPods, on the other hand, have two options to choose from. The ones with the charging case are available for Rs 14,900, while the ones with the wireless charging case are available for Rs 18,499. If you opt for the AirPods Pro, keep in mind that they cost Rs 6,401 more than the AirPods 2 (the model with a wireless case).
AirPods Pro vs AirPods 2: Look and Feel
The design of the AirPods Pro is very different from the AirPods 2. The ‘Pro’ model comes with a silicone tip and users can choose between small, medium and large size options. Apple is touting this in-ear design as “universal-fit” compared to the “universal-fit” non-in-ear design of the AirPods 2. AirPods Pro are smaller in size than the standard AirPods, but they are also a bit deeper and wider. The Pro model is slightly heavier at 5.4 grams compared to the AirPods 2’s 4 grams.
AirPods Pro vs AirPods 2: Noise cancellation, battery
The new AirPods Pro come with Active Noise Cancellation – a feature that is missing from the standard AirPods. You can turn off noise cancellation with just a tap on the earpiece and what Apple calls this audio “Transparency Mode.” The battery backup on the AirPods Pro is slightly less than on the AirPods. Apple listed “4.5 hours of listening time” of backup for the Pro model, while it listed a battery backup of 5 hours for the standard model.
