New Smart Travel Service ‘Airial’ to Simplify Trip Planning
A unique travel service promises to transform how travelers prepare for their journeys. Airial can plan a multi-day trip across several cities in just minutes. It considers transfer times, the proximity of hotels to attractions, and even the traveler’s dietary preferences.
Founded by former Meta employees Arkhit Karandikar and Sanjeev Shenoy, Airial is a platform designed to streamline the travel planning process. The system generates detailed itineraries by analyzing thousands of factors at once.
Functioning like a personal travel assistant, the platform allows users to describe their desired trip. Based on the input, it builds a complete route—selecting flights, hotel accommodations, intercity transport, and suggesting daily schedules that include sightseeing and dining options.
The technology behind Airial is based on a modified version of AlphaGeometry, originally developed by DeepMind to solve complex geometry problems. This model has been adapted to analyze logistics chains for travel. It integrates dozens of APIs to assess flight layovers, train station wait times, and distances between hotels and local attractions.
Each daily itinerary is presented on a map, helping users visualize their travel route. It includes essential information such as transfer durations and potential one-day trips to nearby cities. The system is highly personalized—if a traveler indicates they prefer vegetarian food, only suitable dining options are shown.
Airial also supports integration with social media platforms. Travelers can add places they’ve seen in blog posts, TikTok videos, or Instagram Reels directly into their plans. The system further enhances the experience by recommending related travel videos based on the destination.
The platform now includes features for collaborative planning. Users can share and edit routes with friends, creating a social network around travel where one itinerary can inspire others.
Backed by $3 million in funding from Montage Ventures, South Park Commons, Peak XV, and private investors from UiPath and Dropbox, Airial has already attracted tens of thousands of monthly users.
The company is currently focused on expanding its user base rather than monetization. Upcoming updates include launching mobile apps for iOS and Android, a dedicated search for hotels and attractions, and broader transport options including intercity buses and car rentals.
