Startup Limitless has released an unusual wearable device called the Pendant. The gadget records all surrounding sounds, structures them using an AI algorithm, and creates a “summary” that helps the user reproduce any moment from the past day.
The device is a clip with a magnetic fastening designed to be worn on clothing. The autonomy of the new product, declared by the manufacturer, is up to 100 hours on a single battery charge. Inside the Pendant is a directional microphone that continuously picks up ambient sounds while ignoring background noise.
The company notes that recording will not begin until the second participant in the conversation gives their consent (the implementation of this is not specified). The device is positioned as a useful tool for students and businessmen, which can be used for further analysis of past lectures or business meetings.
The gadget, available in eight different body colors, will go on sale in August 2024 at a price of $99. Users can record up to 10 hours per month for free, and for $19 per year, they will receive unlimited cloud storage.
