After Kona EV, this electric car of Hyundai came in India, booking will start from December 20

 

Hyundai Motor India will start booking the Ioniq 5 electric car from December 20, 2022. This car can be launched at the Auto Expo 2023 to be held in January.

This will be the company’s second electric car after the Kona. It has been prepared on the e-GMP platform. The Ionic 5 is already on sale overseas. Many of its parts such as bio paint will be used in the steering wheel, switches, door panels and recycled elements in the crash pad.

Its rear wheel drive gets 58 kW and all wheel drive configuration gets 72.6 kW battery pack. Its 58 kWh battery pack variant offers a range of up to 385 km. At the same time, a range of about 480 kilometers is available with the 72.6 kWh battery pack.

It comes with a 350 kW DC fast charger, with the help of which the Ionic 5’s battery pack can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 18 minutes.

More premium than all Hyundai models

The Ioniq 5 will get a more premium and modern cabin compared to all Hyundai models. It will get a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen main display, a second 12.3-inch driver’s display, wireless phone charging, head-up display, sunroof and leather seats.

5-star safety rating

Looking at the car from the outside, it looks different from any other Hyundai model, its exterior design includes LED headlamps with LED daytime running lamps and LED tail lamps. Apart from this, its 2021 model also received a 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test.

Once launched, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 will rival the Volvo XC40 Recharge with the EV6. Hyundai may price it more aggressively. Kia’s EV6 is priced at Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). Though it will definitely be the costliest Hyundai model in the country.
