MG Motor has recently introduced EX, a cheaper variant of its popular SUV Aster keeping in mind the demand of the customers. On the same lines, now the EX variant of Hector and Hector Plus models will be brought. The company is going to make it available in Style EX, Sharp EX and Shine EX, which will be brought in the option of petrol and petrol hybrid.
At the same time, the option of 6-speed manual and CVT gearbox will be given in them. The company has removed many safety features such as ESP, traction control, hill start and hill descent control from the Aster EX variant and the same can be done in the EX variants of Hector and Hector Plus. But along with this, the company is also going to remove many technology-related features.
Dynamic turn indicators, leather steering wheel, ventilated seats, wireless charger, electrically adjustable front driver seat, 10.4-inch infotainment system and cruise control can be removed from the Hector EX variant. Along with this, connected technology will also be removed from Sharp EX and Smart EX.
Although the price of these variants will also be lower than that of the standard model, but if we look at the price of Aster EX, then it can be said that this reduction will be normal and there will be no big discount in it. The company is also preparing the facelift version of the Hector and as such, these EX variants will be introduced before the facelift model.
Why EX variant?
As we mentioned, MG Motor wants to reduce its reliance on semiconductors through this reduction, and as a result, specifically removing features and equipment that require semiconductors. MG Motor will continue to sell the standard variant with this but the waiting period for the EX variant will be shorter than theirs.
Getting ready for Hector facelift
The MG Hector facelift is to be brought to India during the festive season. The company has started testing it and recently it was seen with new changes. The company is going to bring the MG Hector facelift with a new exterior and interior, along with some new safety features to be added to this SUV. The company had earlier brought the new facelift model in 2021.
MG Hector is to be brought with a new look, the company can bring it to the Indian market in the month of October. For this the company has started preparations. It will get a Level 2 advanced driver assist system, similar to the one offered in the Aster SUV. However, MG Motor is not going to make any mechanical changes in the facelift of the Hector.
MG Motor vehicles are getting good response but the company is not able to deliver yet and the waiting period is increasing continuously. In such a situation, the company is going to bring a new EX variant to reduce it, now it has to be seen how much they are priced.
