Activision Acknowledges Cheating Issues in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Promises Improvements

Activision has admitted its failure to adequately tackle cheating in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, following the game’s October release. As with previous entries in the franchise, the latest installment quickly became a target for cheaters, especially in ranked matches. Despite efforts from the development team to address these issues, cheaters continue to plague the game.

In an official blog post, Activision explained that, after the launch of Black Ops 6, the team’s focus shifted to debugging the first season of the game. Unfortunately, this allowed cheating activity to escalate, particularly affecting competitive modes.

The developers are committed to resolving the issue and have outlined plans for ongoing improvements. Regular cleanups are now being carried out, and the team is thoroughly scrutinizing leaderboards to identify and remove cheaters. Looking ahead, Activision plans to enhance its anti-cheat system, RICOCHET, in upcoming seasons (two and three) to better combat cheaters and safeguard game servers. Although the system currently bans cheaters every hour, the company recognizes that more needs to be done.

Additionally, Activision has expanded the team responsible for reviewing suspicious player reports and videos. This team will play a key role in making accurate decisions regarding account bans.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched on October 25, 2024, and is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. However, the game is not currently available in Russia. Activision’s focus now is to restore fairness and integrity to the game, ensuring a better experience for all players.
