Digitnews: The new scientific paper says that the prosthesis extracts signals from multiple muscles and adapts in real time with new user inputs.
The system was first tested in a virtual environment. Then, after successful tests, scientists conducted experiments with a user interface and an ultra-modern prosthesis at Imperial College London. Specifically, the researchers asked an amputee to move clothespins.
Although the new prosthesis has been validated using controlled and standardized tests, high-quality longitudinal studies are still required. Therefore, scientists hope to continue cooperation with medical centers and users of prostheses.
