Apple’s explosion May launch new AirTag with new design and upgrades

Apple is gearing up to release a new version of its AirTag, a small device designed to help users track their belongings. While the company has not officially announced the product yet, reports suggest this updated AirTag will feature several enhancements, including a redesigned structure and a new chipset.

Enhanced Design and Features

The first AirTag, introduced in April 2021, has remained unchanged since its debut. However, according to renowned tech expert Mark Gurman, the upcoming AirTag—codenamed B589—is set to bring noteworthy improvements. Gurman predicts a launch in mid-2024, with the new model sporting a longer range and an advanced U2 chip, replacing the U1 chip found in the original version. This upgrade is expected to enhance speed and overall performance.

Addressing Privacy Concerns

Privacy has been a significant focus for this iteration. The new AirTag will come equipped with a tamper-resistant speaker, addressing prior complaints about misuse of the device. Apple appears to have taken these issues seriously, ensuring the updated version prioritizes user safety and privacy.

Pricing Insights

When it launched in 2021, Apple’s AirTag was priced at ₹3,190 for a single unit and ₹10,999 for a pack of four. It featured an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, along with a built-in speaker. While pricing details for the upcoming model remain under wraps, the added features and upgrades may influence its cost.

With a new design, improved range, and enhanced privacy measures, Apple’s next-generation AirTag aims to build on the strengths of its predecessor while addressing key user concerns.
