Apple’s next big phone, the iPhone 16, is expected to launch in September 2024. There’s no official word yet, but rumors say it will have a brand new design with a vertical camera setup again, just like the iPhone X and iPhone 11. There might also be a special camera button on the side.
Leaked photos of iPhone 16 cases show this possible design change. This camera button might use the phone’s vibration motor to give a nice feeling when you press it. A soft tap can focus on something you want to take a picture of, and a second tap takes the photo. This is different from the Action button that might also be on the iPhone 16.
Speaking of the inside of the phone, the iPhone 16 might have a new A18 or A17 Pro chip, depending on which model you get. The Pro models are supposed to get the faster chip. This new chip will be built with a special technology that should make the phone work much faster and smoother, especially when you have a lot of apps open at once. The iPhone 16 might also come with more RAM (8GB) than previous models and more storage space too (starting at 256GB). This means you’ll have plenty of room for all your photos, videos, and apps.
Another upgrade rumored for the iPhone 16 is Wi-Fi 6E, which will let you connect to the internet faster and more reliably. The Pro models might even get Wi-Fi 7, which is an even faster type of Wi-Fi.
Battery life is another area where Apple might be making improvements. Leaks suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max might have bigger batteries that could last over 30 hours on a single charge. That would be a big improvement over the iPhone 15 series, which only promises battery life that lasts a full day. Apple is also reportedly working on ways to keep the phone cooler, because some people complained that previous iPhones got too hot.
