MG Astor Facelift Leaks Reveal Design and Interior Upgrades

MG’s popular Astor SUV is getting a facelift, and leaked photos offer a glimpse of the upcoming changes.

Sharper Design with New Tech Features

The most noticeable update is the new front end. Sharp LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs replace the previous design. The grille retains its diamond finish, but with larger vertical air inlets. A new, sportier front bumper and updated headlamps complete the bolder look.

The sides will feature new dual-tone alloy wheels, while the rear gets wraparound LED taillights and an updated bumper. A large sunroof and ample window space are expected to carry over from the current model. New color options might also be available.

Upscale Interior with Enhanced Technology

Inside, the Astor facelift gets a makeover with a black theme accented by white on the doors and seats. A new 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls adds a touch of sportiness. The dashboard and center console are redesigned, featuring a twin-screen display, a new gear selector, and a wireless smartphone charger. Existing features like internet connectivity are expected to be improved with more voice command options.

Engine and Launch

No major changes are expected under the hood. The Astor will likely retain its current 1.5-liter petrol and 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine options, with transmission choices of 5-speed manual, 5-speed CVT, and 6-speed torque converter.

The MG Astor facelift is expected to launch sometime in 2024 with a starting price around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with popular SUVs like the Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos in the Indian market.
