Which is better to buy: 4-star or 5-star?
. If you use the AC day and night (8-10 hours) → 5-star is better. It will seem expensive initially, but it will save money on electricity bills.
. If the AC is used only at night or for 2-4 hours during the day → 4-star is more sensible. The initial investment will be lower.
Why is buying now advantageous?
. The GST reduction that was given in September 2025 will end when the new prices come into effect.
. If you want to buy a new AC or refrigerator for the summer → locking in a deal before the season starts is the best time.
What is BEE Star Rating?
. The BEE star rating indicates the power consumption of an electronic appliance.
. 1-star product → consumes the most electricity.
. 5-star product → saves the most power.
. This rating is given to appliances like ACs, refrigerators, washing machines, and TVs.
New rule:
. New 5-star ACs and refrigerators → will save more electricity compared to the old 5-star models. The 5-star model from 2025 will be considered a 4-star model in 2026, but you can still buy it at the old price.
