People love emulators – many gamers use these programs to get acquainted with old games. Nintendo has a different opinion about such utilities: in the eyes of the eminent corporation, they are not much different from piracy. That’s why the creators of Super Mario Bros. decided to deal with the authors of one of them.
NEW: Nintendo is suing the creators of popular Switch emulator Yuzu, saying their tech illegally circumvents Nintendo's software encryption and facilitates piracy.

Journalist Stephen Totilo noted that the company filed a lawsuit against the developers of Yuzu, a popular Switch emulator. The plaintiff is sure that their activities are harmful to business:
- the technology used by the team illegally bypasses console encryption;
- on the day of release, the image of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was downloaded more than a million times, and, as a result, support for developers on Patreon increased several times;
- Tears of the Kingdom’s early appearance online led to spoilers being posted online.
In other words, craftsmen have created a pirated program, earn money with it (though not directly) and do dirty tricks on Nintendo in every possible way. As a result, the corporation wants the Yuzu authors to compensate for the financial damage caused to it and to stop developing the utility once and for all.
