A rare item in the form of a 1971 Dodge Charger was put up at the Bring a Trailer online auction. Bidding is already underway and so far they have already offered 121 thousand dollars for it.
The car has been completely restored, but such a high price is also explained by the fact that only about sixty units of these cars were produced.
The third generation Dodge Charger, introduced in 1970, received a new design. In 1971, only 3118 cars were produced, including 63 units with a 7-liter V8 Hemi engine. This is the car up for auction.
Such an engine produces about 430 hp. power at 665 Nm of torque and allows the car to drive a quarter mile in about 13 seconds. After 1971, this engine was no longer used in the Charger.
This instance is equipped with a four-speed manual Hurst gearbox, while many cars of this line were equipped with a three-band “automatic”.
Currently, Dodge plans to phase out the gasoline versions of the Charger and Challenger, replacing them with electric vehicles.
