Earlier, 6 airbags were given in the company’s Kia Cars from the base variant and now it has also been given in Seltos. Earlier, six airbags were available only in the top-spec HTX+, X-Line and GTX (O) and GTX+ variants. Apart from this, no other changes have been made in the features. The company can soon be given 6 airbags in the sonnet as well.
Currently, the Kia Seltos is made available in eight trims. Talking about its safety features, as standard, electronic stability control with 6 airbags, hill assist control, vehicle stability management system, tire pressure monitoring system and disc brake etc. have been given. The model has received a 3-star rating by Global NCAP.
Some time back, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari had said that soon 6 airbags will be mandatory in all cars. In such a situation, Kia Motors is already getting ready for this. It is to be noted that the Cairns gets 6 airbags across all the variants but it has got only 3-stars in the crash test rating of Global NCAP which shows that along with the number of airbags there are many other safety parameters on which The vehicle has to fit.
Kia Seltos currently comes with 3-Star Adult Safety and 2-Star Child Safety. In the crash test ratings done in 2022, it was informed that the 3-point seatbelt, ISOFIX, which is found in its top variant, will not be given in its base variant. It was introduced in India in 2019 and since then it has been giving tough competition to models like the Kia Seltos.
Kia Seltos was the company’s first model and due to this the company has strengthened its business in India. The South Korean carmaker entered the Indian market with the Seltos mid-size SUV in August 2019 and has been doing well since then. Kia India has become the first car manufacturer to achieve this feat in the shortest time.

Kia Motors has taken a major step towards the safety of the Seltos and now offers 6 airbags. But the company has not increased the price instead, which is a good thing. Now it has to be seen whether the sales of Seltos do better than this or not.
