5G Services: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has said in its annual report that its telecom arm Jio has taken several steps to prepare itself for 5G services with its 100% indigenous technology in the financial year 2021-22. Under this, the country’s largest telecom company Jio has completed its preparations to start 5G services in about 1000 cities and has also tested its indigenously developed 5G telecom equipment.
Jio finalizes plans to launch 5G services in 1000 cities
According to the RIL report, “Jio’s plan to provide 5G services in 1000 cities of the country has been completed. In the meantime, using heat maps, 3D maps and ray-tracing technology, targeted consumer consumption and revenue potential are based on ” The company said that Jio has also tested the services related to 5G technology on the ground. During this, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Cloud Gaming, TV Streaming, Connected Hospitals and Industrial Usage were tested.
Reliance Jio becomes biggest bidder in 5G auction
Reliance Jio has emerged as the largest bidder in the recently completed 5G spectrum auction. Of the Rs 1.50 lakh crore bids put up in the auction, Jio alone had bids worth Rs 88,078 crore. At the same time, the Department of Telecom says that with the introduction of services based on 5G spectrum, downloading will be 10 times faster than 4G and the efficiency of spectrum will also increase by about three times.
