New Delhi:5G Download Speed: Initially launched in select cities, 5G services are now gradually being rolled out across India. But, in selected cities of the country where this high speed internet service has been started, the users are getting data at rocket speed. At the same time, now the UK-based analytics company has informed in its report that the availability of 5G in the country has already significantly enhanced the mobile experience of users. Besides, the report also stated that 5G download speed in India was 16.5 times faster than 4G in October.
According to the report, 5G users in India reported an average mobile speed of 242.1 Mbps, which is 16.5 times higher than the 14.7 Mbps experienced with 4G. At the same time, the top download speed for 5G in India was 690.6 Mbps, which is 11.6 times higher than the top download speed for 4G. According to the report, 5G has provided better average upload speed to users as compared to 4G service. At the same time, uploads on 5G were 5.4 times faster than 4G with an average of 21.2 Mbps.
5G Speed in India:
Users in India rated their video streaming experience as ‘very good’ (65-75) when connected to 5G. Compared to 5G, the 4G video experience scored ‘Fair’ (40 -55). The report also claims that mobile multiplayer gaming users in the country have a better experience with 5G than 4G.
5G Services in India:
India’s much-awaited 5G spectrum auction was completed in August 2022 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched 5G services on October 1 of the same year. Besides, only two of India’s three major telecom companies are now offering 5G services. Airtel was the first company to make a commercial debut using Non-Standalone Access (NSA) technology. Jio has opted for 5G standalone access and is currently the only Indian operator using the 700 MHz band.
